Erofili Apartments is a family-run apartment complex located at the very heart of Hersonissos, Crete, Greece. We offer self-catering studios and apartments ideal for couples, small families and groups of friends looking for a relaxed, authentic Cretan holiday in a central and convenient location. Our guests benefit from warm, personal hospitality — you become part of the Erofili family from the moment you arrive.

Where are you located?

We are located at Sanoudaki 18, Hersonissos (Chersonisos), Heraklion, Crete 70014, Greece — right at the centre of the town. The nearest sandy beach (Hersonissos Central Beach) is just 200 metres away (approximately a 2-minute walk), and the seafront road with its restaurants, cafes and bars is just a few steps from our door. We are approximately 23 km from Heraklion International Airport Nikos Kazantzakis.

When are you open?

We operate seasonally from April to October each year.

Is the property officially licensed?

Yes. Erofili Apartments is fully registered and licensed under Greek tourism law. Our M.H.T.E. Licence Number is 1138537.

Erofili Apartments is located just 200 metres from Hersonissos Central Beach — approximately a 2-minute walk — making it one of the most beach-convenient locations in the whole town. The beach is sandy and rocky with sunbeds, beach bars and water sports available directly on the beach. Quieter coves nearby offer crystal-clear water and a more relaxed atmosphere. The sea is calm and warm from late April through October, ideal for swimming.

Is it good for families?

Yes, Hersonissos is exceptionally family-friendly. The town has wide promenades, plenty of family restaurants, and a safe, welcoming atmosphere. Nearby attractions for families include:

What dining options are available?

Hersonissos has one of the most vibrant food and nightlife scenes in Crete. Because Erofili is located right at the centre of town, the seafront road with its traditional Greek tavernas, fresh seafood restaurants, cafes, restaurants and beach bars is just steps from our door. You will never be short of choice.

Is there a golf course nearby?

Yes. The Creta Golf Club is approximately 8 km from Erofili Apartments (a 12-minute taxi ride) and is a popular choice for guests who enjoy a round of golf during their stay.

What clothing should I bring to Crete?

This depends on the season of your visit. For May and October, we recommend bringing a light jacket as evenings can be cool. For the summer months (June to September), light clothing, swimwear and good sunscreen are essential — the Cretan sun is strong! A comfortable pair of shoes for exploring is always a good idea.

What is the weather like in Hersonissos?

In May and October, temperatures range from approximately 20–25°C with occasional light rain. From June to September, temperatures gradually rise from around 30°C to over 40°C on the hottest days of July and August. The sea is warm and inviting from late spring through early autumn.

When is the best time to explore the island?

Crete is beautiful year-round, but we particularly recommend May, June, September and October for exploring. The weather is excellent, the island is less crowded, and popular sites like the Palace of Knossos and the island of Spinalonga can be enjoyed at a more relaxed pace.

How far is the property from Heraklion Airport?

We are approximately 23 km from Heraklion International Airport Nikos Kazantzakis, roughly 25-30 minutes by taxi. Transfer options include:

  • Taxi (up to 4 passengers): approximately €43 per taxi
  • Van (up to 8 passengers): approximately €65 per van

We work with a trusted partner for airport transfers and are happy to assist with arrangements upon request.

Can I get there without a car?

Yes. Public bus connections from Heraklion are easy and affordable. Tickets cost approximately €3.50 per person and buses run every 30 minutes, with a journey time of around 45 minutes to Hersonissos. Get off at bus stop number 19-Creta Marris. At the opposite side of the road you will see a hospital named “Medical Center”. Follow the street “Sanoudaki”, that is vertical to the hospital. Keep walking straight ahead for about 150 metres until you find a cross road. Continue straight ahead and in about 80 metres you will find Erofili Apartments to your left hand.

How do I get there by bus from Heraklion Airport?

Just outside the arrivals area at Heraklion Airport Nikos Kazantzakis, you will find the public bus stop. Board the bus towards Hersonissos (ticket approx. €3.50, every 30 minutes, journey approx. 45 minutes) and get off at bus stop number 19-Creta Marris. At the opposite side of the road you will see a hospital named “Medical Center”. Follow the street “Sanoudaki”, that is vertical to the hospital. Keep walking straight ahead for about 150 metres until you find a cross road. Continue straight ahead and in about 80 metres you will find Erofili Apartments to your left hand.

How do I get there by bus from Heraklion Port?

Exit the port and follow Ethnikis Antistaseos street straight ahead for 300 metres, then turn right onto Loforos Ikarou and continue for 100 metres. The central bus station of Heraklion will be on your right. Board the bus towards Hersonissos (ticket approx. €3.50, every 30 minutes, journey approx. 45 minutes) and get off at bus stop number 19-Creta Marris. At the opposite side of the road you will see a hospital named “Medical Center”. Follow the street “Sanoudaki”, that is vertical to the hospital. Keep walking straight ahead for about 150 metres until you find a cross road. Continue straight ahead and in about 80 metres you will find Erofili Apartments to your left hand.

Yes. Free public parking is available just outside the property. No reservation required.

We offer 5 accommodation types: 2 studio categories and 3 apartment categories. All units are self-catering with private balconies or terrace, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi.

Yes. Our twice-weekly housekeeping service is designed to give guests the privacy and independence of self-catering accommodation while keeping your space fresh and comfortable. Towels and bed linen are included in all room types (2 towels per person: 1 large and 1 smaller). For any additional needs, our front desk team is always available to assist.

Are baby cots available?

Yes. Baby cots are available upon request. Please inform us at the time of booking so one can be ready for your arrival.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in at Erofili Apartments is from 15:00 (3:00 PM) and check-out is by 11:00 (11:00 AM).

Is early check-in or late check-out available?

Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability. We recommend contacting us in advance to check availability. We will always do our best to accommodate your needs.

What are the reception opening hours?

Reception is open daily from 08:00 to midnight (00:00). Guests arriving outside these hours are welcome — a team member will be on premises to assist with check-in. Please contact us in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements

Is luggage storage available?

Yes. A luggage storage room is available at the property for guests who arrive before their room is ready or who wish to leave bags after check-out.

Is there a minimum age for check-in?

There is no minimum age restriction. Families with children of all ages are warmly welcomed. Guests under 18 years of age checking in independently must have parental consent.

Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is not included in the standard room rate. A bed and breakfast option is available at an additional charge.

Is Wi-Fi available throughout the property?

Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and public areas of the property.

Is there an airport or port transfer service?

Yes. We work with a trusted partner who can pick you up from Heraklion Airport (Nikos Kazantzakis) for approximately €43 per taxi (maximum 4 passengers) or €65 per van (maximum 8 passengers). Please contact us in advance to arrange your transfer.

Can I rent a car or book excursions?

Yes. Our team can assist with car and motorbike rental arrangements, as well as information on local excursions and boat trips. These are provided by local partners and may involve an additional charge.

Is there a medical centre nearby?

Yes. A medical centre is located just 5 minutes walk from Erofili Apartments. Our team can also assist with doctor-on-request services if needed (additional charge may apply).

Is there a wake-up call service?

Yes. A wake-up call service is available on request. Simply inform the front desk team of your preferred time.

What is the smoking policy?

Smoking is not permitted inside the rooms. Guests who wish to smoke may do so on the balcony or in designated outdoor areas.

Are there quiet hours?

Quiet hours at Erofili Apartments are observed from 23:00 to 07:00. We kindly ask all guests to keep noise to a minimum during these hours to ensure a comfortable stay for everyone.

What is the Greek tourist tax at Erofili Apartments?

In accordance with Greek law, an accommodation tax of €2 per room per night applies at Erofili Apartments, payable on-site.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, Erofili Apartments welcomes pets on request. The following conditions apply:

  • 1 pet per room maximum
  • Pets must be declared at the time of booking
  • A pet supplement of €30 per stay applies
